Managing and optimizing the workplace: Meet HR Operations Specialist, Marianne Brunelle

Marianne Brunelle started her journey at Stradigi AI as the second employee in the HR department. Now, two years later, she is on a team of 9 people. Discover Marianne’s passion for creating seamless processes and finding new ways to improve life at work.

Tell me about yourself. What’s your educational background?

Born and raised in Montreal, I started my bachelors degree in Tourism but quickly changed to Human Resources as it piqued my interest. I completed my studies at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM).

When I graduated, I landed an internship at an accounting firm in Montreal. It was such a great stepping stone for my professional development, but I wanted the opportunity to engage with the company’s employees more which is why I chose to transition to a smaller company. I chose Stradigi AI because I knew I would have the opportunity to interact with people more frequently and contribute to creating a strong culture.

Tell me about your team at Stradigi AI?

HR is the first impression people see before actually coming here. There are a lot of components that make up the HR team from the recruitment process to on-boarding and the overall work environment. We are always striving to have a positive impact on all team members for a more dynamic and engaging work experience. As a team, our end goal is to empower people to do their best at work while continuously encouraging cross-organizational collaboration.

What does your day to day look like?

No day is ever the same, that’s what makes this job so interesting. Although the team has grown, we have a very ‘all hands on deck’ approach so we are always supporting each other to empower overall success of the team. Although I have my own responsibilities, I will always support on any urgent requests my team has. My specific tasks are very vast, ranging from payroll to implementing policies and procedures and even assisting in work permits. Needless to say, there is never a dull moment.

How has the growth of the company impacted your work?

At the time I joined, we were about 40 people, being only the second person in the HR department, there was a lot of work to be done. From day one, I was given a lot of responsibility which was great for my personal and professional growth. I was given the opportunity to put processes in place to help the company grow. I’ve seen a lot of changes in just the past two years, but one thing remains the same: our unique culture.

Tell me what you think is the most interesting part about being in HR?

Interacting with so many different people is truly a unique experience. Not only does this apply from a recruitment perspective but in our day to day work environment as well. We have such a diverse and multicultural workplace that I am constantly learning from new perspectives of team members.

What are your tips for future Stradigi AI applicants?

Be bold and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Stradigi AI is a fast-paced work environment, so finding the type of individuals who thrive in this unique environment is super important here. Always remember the interviewer wants to meet you – the real you, so always be true to who you are and show us your personality.
