Meet Mario Bruno, one of our AI Developers, who has been working with Stradigi AI for 7 years. Mario came on board when Stradigi AI was Stradigi, a software development firm, and he was one of just six employees, specializing in mobile app development. Take a glimpse into what it’s like to be part of the astonishing growth of the company from someone who has witnessed it first-hand.
You’ve been at the company for quite some time! Tell us about how you got to where you are today?
When I was studying software development at Herzing College, the company had an internship program, which is how I got my foot in the door. I began as a mobile app developer, before becoming the Director of Lead Mobile Development.
When our company pivoted to Artificial Intelligence, my role changed to become an AI developer. This was a new chapter in my career and I was excited to tackle the new challenge head-on. If you believe in the mission of the company you work for, growing within, regardless of the challenges you might face, is very rewarding.
What does your day-to-day look like at Stradigi AI?
I graduated 7 years ago, but I haven’t stopped learning. At Stradigi AI, everyday you face a new challenge and learn something to help you get to the next step.
On a daily basis you work cross-functionally with the Research Scientists to ensure their codes are optimized, scalable and ready to go into production to perform securely in Kepler. And, working as an AI Developer, there is a lot of collaboration and brainstorming that comes into play.
Without cross-functional collaboration and constant brainstorming, you wouldn’t be able to learn as much. We solve complex problems and find optimal solutions by bouncing ideas off of individuals who each have their own perspective and expertise; it makes everyday fun and interesting.
How would you say Stradigi AI stands out from other companies?
When I first joined the team, we were about 6 people and now we’re over 130. It has been remarkable to see the company grow, but more importantly, it’s been amazing to witness that we’ve kept the same family-oriented culture. I would also say it’s very unique to work for a company that puts a lot of trust and value in the growth of its employees. When I transitioned from Mobile Development to Python Development, the company invested in me so I could develop the expertise and training to learn python and grow my skill set.
What would you recommend to others interested in joining the AI world?
It is very important to take the time to learn everything there is about machine learning. You need to be willing to put in the work, but completing online classes will not make you an AI expert overnight — it’s journey. Take the proper time to learn, go over examples and be patient for all the steps in between. One of the best recommendations I could give someone is to continuously learn from those around you, and read open sources and codes from other people’s findings.
