WHY KEPLER?

Orangead is a digital signage solution that fully integrates the purchase, distribution and analysis of digital out-of-home advertising. To fulfill the last part of its offer, Orangead is looking to Kepler to create traffic and visibility predictions that ads will receive to maximize the impact of ad content shown in their network.

Orangead uses its AI models to predict foot traffic at a given location near its intelligent ad terminals to facilitate ad buyer decision-making on their platform. These predictable traffic forecasts are to become a part of their unique value proposition in the out-of-home advertising market, which includes a pay-per-view system.

THE AI PROJECT

Orangead is using Kepler to accelerate its first AI project by allowing all team members, including those with less AI experience, to contribute to its development.
  • Due to a lack of real data, Orangead first used Kepler to build initial models with synthetic data. These models then helped determine the best data to capture using their first screens deployed.
  • With the ease-of-use of Kepler, Orangead’s team was able to experiment with different AI models and adjust as more data became available.
  • Orangead continues to experiment and create models to determine the ideal time intervals to produce predictions that would feed back into the platform.

BUSINESS IMPACT

The use of Kepler AI allows Orangead to significantly accelerate the development of its business model, and to be able to provide accurate forecasts to its network of advertising partners, without having to use the resources and time previously needed.

Analyzing even synthetic data allows Orangead to build reliable prediction models to increase the added value of advertising data analysis, which is the core of their service offer.

Gallea
Gallea is an online art gallery and a network of exhibiting venues, whose mission is to democratize the discovery and consumption of local art, both online and offline, while stimulating the local economy.

We learned that software like Kepler can meet the artificial intelligence needs of a start-up company, but that it is important for the company to properly classify its data so that the results are relevant. In just a few months, we became aware of the data to be tracked, saved and classified in our database in order to create a solid data structure for the long term allowing us to achieve our objectives and develop real business intelligence.

WHY KEPLER?

Through its online sales platform, Gallea offers independent artists the opportunity to sell their art, while giving buyers access to a wide selection of artworks.

Gallea uses Kepler to maximize its predictive capabilities to recommend the ideal listing price of an artwork to artists. By using an AI-based price recommendation, Gallea will be able to support artists in identifying pricing for their work, which has been identified as a significant point of friction for the industry.

Gallea also aims to use Kepler to recommend artists or artworks to buyers according to their needs and interests. By automatically tagging artworks added to the platform, and cross-checking with its transactional data, Gallea will develop an artwork recommendation system based on user profiles, and on pictures of a given space where the artwork would be displayed.

THE AI PROJECT

To develop a price prediction model, Gallea first leveraged data around artwork characteristics (such as size, style, type, colour, and techniques) and customer behavior metrics (such as likes, shares, and unique page views). By analyzing, they were able to determine and understand which features were the biggest determining factors behind the price prediction.

These insights will be used in determining what external data could be incorporated into future models to improve accuracy, and allow them to develop their personalized art recommendation system.

Gallea was able to create 4 price prediction models within the span of a week, allowing them to arrive at a prediction performance level suitable for a beta in the first half of Q2 of 2021.

BUSINESS IMPACT

By using Kepler, Gallea increases the added value of its product to both artists and buyers. Implementing an AI-based artwork pricing system allows them to offer a much more accurate version of their platform and artwork value, while strengthening their mission to democratize art.

Synapse C
Synapse C is a non-profit created in 2017 that specializes in data analysis for arts and culture in Quebec and Canada. The organization aims to become an international reference in the processing of this data, to the benefit of the cultural ecosystem. It is also recognized as a Center of Digital Excellence by the ministère de l’Économie et de l’Innovation.

WHY KEPLER?

By using Kepler, Synapse C can leverage the use of data from its cultural partners to develop advanced models around audience behaviour analysis, segmentation and predictive modelling to provide the cultural sector with AI-powered decision-making tools.

As their first project with Kepler, Synapse C aims to predict the occupancy rate of cultural shows in the Montérégie area.

Their second project focuses on supporting the non-profit organization BiblioPresto, a platform allowing Quebec readers to borrow digital books from their library’s website. Synapse C is looking to offer insights into what factors most influence the loaning of digital books.

THE AI PROJECT

The insights generated within Kepler has allowed Synapse C to provide much needed support to non-profits in leveraging their data to improve and optimize their services to the public.

As part of their first project, Synapse C received and prepared data from multiple non-profit organizations in the Montérégie area in order to build their occupancy prediction model. Once on Kepler, Synapse C was able to create several models using historical data to build their first proof of concept.

For their second AI project with BiblioPresto, Synapse C began processing data on 8 million book loans to build their next proof of concept on Kepler around the book loan habits of readers across Quebec.

BUSINESS IMPACT

Through the use of Kepler, Synapse C was able to confirm its corporate positioning as a reference in the exploitation of data for the benefit of the cultural sector. By testing different types of prediction models, they are constantly improving and refining their data analysis strategy, thereby improving their company offer to their customers.
